Forming Function x Form Us With Love
Electricity and charging are among the most used and indispensable products in our daily lives, both at home and at work. Yet, they have long been the most overlooked when it comes to design, sustainability, and holistic system solutions.
At Forming Function, we believe there’s no reason to hide electricity and charging. Instead, we aim to make them a beautiful, integrated part of interior design.
To create a forward-thinking collection, we partnered with the award-winning Swedish design studio Form Us With Love.
Together, we identified three key challenges: a lack of design innovation, holistic systems och sustainable alternatives.
The solution? Nomad Collection – a bold, colorful, portable, and scalable ecosystem designed for all environments and occasions. The thoughtfully crafted forms make it easy to integrate the accessories into any space, whether it’s your home, favorite café, hotel lobby, summerhouse, or workplace.
With Nomad Collection, you’ll never need to hide cords and outlets again.
Handmade in Småland
The Nomad Collection is a perfect blend of form and function, where beautiful design meets modern engineering. Its timelessness is found both in the carefully curated color palette and in the technical details.
The collection is handcrafted in Småland using recycled aluminum. Kokill casting, a technique practiced by only a few foundries in Sweden, is a true craft that demands exceptional skill and expertise.
This unique casting process gives the surface of the casings a distinct character and luster. A process carried out with love, great expertise, and professional pride. The products are also assembled and painted in Sweden with care and precision.
A holistic collection for all types of environments
The Nomad Collection is a holistic solution and thoughtfully designed ecosystem created to suit all spaces and needs. We see it as our responsibility to cater to lifestyles on the move.
The portable Nomad Block is a flexible power outlet that works just as well in a home office as in the living room or on a bedside table. For a more integrated solution, the recessed Nomad Strip is perfect for installation in desks or other surfaces where a fixed and stylish solution is desired.
Pair it with the iconic Nomad Lamp 01 – a portable lamp that plugs into any Type F power outlet, providing both light and elegance where it’s needed most.
Colour is also a unique element and the core of the collection. The products can seamlessly blend into existing interiors or stand out with a contrasting color scheme. Think of them as small but essential tools for creating a holistic interior design, where different spaces are tied together in a cohesive, harmonious style.
Sustainability and reuse
Our approach to electricity, charging, and lighting also embraces a circular mindset. The aluminum casings are 100 percent recycled, with full traceability.
Since all products are assembled and painted in Sweden, we can ensure the highest possible quality while minimizing unnecessary overseas transportation.
The collection is also designed with long-term use in focus. To enable easy and seamless reuse, each component is produced from carefully selected materials. For example, every aluminum casing can be repaired, remelted, and recycled over and over again without compromising quality.
The technical modules inside the casings are also designed to be seamlessly replaceable in the future. Industry standards like USB-C dominate today, but what about tomorrow? For us, it's important that nothing is discarded but instead given new life.
